Berlin/Brussels, 19 May 2022, – German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, told national parliament that Ukraine can’t be granted a special treatment differently from Western Balkans six countries on their EU pathway, thus joining the position of French President, Emmanuel Macron, who last week said that the accession process is not a matter of a few months or a few years.


Strasbourg, 03 May 2022, – Italian Prime  Minister Mario Draghi called Tuesday during a speech in the European Parliament (EP) for change of EU treaty on decision-making  to end the veto rule and switch to qualified-majority in EU’s foreign policy, defence sector and enlargement process, respectively.


Brussels, 08 April 2022, - The fifth package approved today by the 27 governments of EU member states doesn't include ban on Russian oil and gas, despite yesterday's call by the European Parliament to immediately impose the full ban on the two main imports from Russia.


Strasbourg, 07 April 2022, – The European Parliament (EP) today called governments of 27 member states for “additional punitive measures, including “an immediate full embargo on Russian imports of oil, coal, nuclear fuel and gas” over invasion of Ukraine, while at the same time calling also for stepping up arms deliveries to the Ukrainian army.


Brussels, 07 April 2022, - G7 countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the USA) and EU today condemned “in the strongest terms” the atrocities committed by the Russian armed forces in Bucha and a number of other Ukrainian towns and at the same time warned against any threat or use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. 

“Any use by Russia of such a weapon would be unacceptable and result in severe consequences,” foreign ministers of the seven countries and EU’s chief of diplomacy, Josep Borrell said in a statementafter a meeting in Brussels.


Brussels, 05 April 2022, – The European Commission (EC) today forwarded to 27 EU governments a proposal of fifth package of sanctions on Russia over aggression against Ukraine, which include bans on certain exports, but not on gas and oil which make EU's biggest imports from the country which continues brutal military assault against Ukraine and its civilians since February 24.


Strasbourg, 16 March 2022, – After yesterday’s vote of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Committee of Ministers of the Strasbourg-based body today decided to expel Russian Federation from the organization over its military aggression against Ukraine, with the decision effective as from today.


New York/ Belgrade, 02 March 2022, – In a text voted with 141 votes in favour, 4 against and 35 abstentions, the world body asked Russia to end military assaults and “immediately, completely and unconditionally” withdraw its army from Ukraine’s territory.


Brussels, 02 March 2022, – governments of 27 EU member countries today approved the proposal of the European Commission (EC) to suspend the two Russian state-controlled media to broadcast in all forms in the EU or circumvent and directed at the EU.


Brussels, 01 March 2022, – The European Parliament today adopted a resolution calling governments of member states to impose ban on oil and gas from Russia, while also urging 27 capitals and EU institutions to launch procedures for granting Ukraine EU status candidate country, as the application was signed and filed yesterday by President Volodymyr Zelensky to the EU Council and French Presidency of the bloc.
