Party of Kosovo PM not really against land-swap with Serbia

Prishtina, 28 January 2022, dtt-net.com – In a video interview in May 2011, the Speaker of the Parliament, Gllauk Konjufca - the right hand man of Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti - doesn’t exclude the possibility of party embracing land-swap with Serbia, causing doubts whether Kurti and his associates are today really against exchange of territories which they officially and publicly protested when during Donald Trump’s mandate, the former President Hashim Thaçi and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic were pushing for it, but fiercely opposed by Germany

"Regarding Mr. Avni Klinkau (leader of a party which promotes land swap with Serbia) for exchange of territories. This point should probably be clarified by Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, because we think that going towards that issue where, of course, the PresevoValley is opened and the rights of Albanians there are regulated. So the issue of national unification (with Albania), passes through the sovereignty of Kosovo. The road is that way. Without Kosovo becoming sovereign, this can not happen either. We see this as the crowning achievement of Kosovo's sovereignty. Then, we think that this work of the three northern municipalities is problematic. Why? Because Zvecan (Serb-predominantly municipality in north of Kosovo) is a municipality of Milosevic. Zvecan and Zubin Potok are the municipalities of Milosevic of 1991. This injustice must be corrected, because we can not implement the decisions of Slobodan Milosevic," Konjufca said eleven years ago.
